On 18 June the submersible Titan, operated by OceanGate expeditions dived into the ocean to explore the wreckage site of Titanic and around an hour and forty-five minutes later the submarine lost all contact with its mother ship. The US coast guard and deep-sea water experts from France, Canada and the UK joined hands together to run a combined search operation for the submersible but all in vain. This incident sent a shock wave around the globe as conspiracy theories started following one after the another, The whole world stood together in silence as we observed the countdown to the Titan’s oxygen supply end.
However, five days after the incident on 23 June, The US coast guard published an official statement confirming that the mini submarine had imploded some 1600 meters from the site of Titanic. According to the reports, The US navy reported an imploding sound from within the ocean around the same time Titan lost communication with the surface. As per the experts, implosion occurs due to extremely high pressure within the sea and when a submarine goes below the suggested depth the hull of the submarines cannot withstand the pressure thrown at them and give up.
Rescue efforts are still running to gather the remains of the submersible but the question still remains that was there no prior knowledge or precautions taken as to if the mini submarines material could withstand the pressure?
